Happy Holidays & Cutie Patooties

Hi there!

Thought I would throw in a photo of this years Christmas tree! We are traditional in our seasonal decorating! Many years of ornaments. Some from my childhood and many from my children that they have made in school and some this old gal has made. I love them all dearly. I know I should update the ornaments & change it up a bit. But, yes...I am very sentimental and pretty attached to all these ornaments! :O) And love my twinkley lights! DO you know how hard it is to take a photo with the twinkle lights flashing on and off? LOL I took I don't know how many photos before I had enough of the lights lit! I am no photographer...you and I both know this! hee hee

Want Peace?

Surely at one time or another we have all heard or said, "I wish (or Pray) for world peace."

Wishing or praying for it is great but we can't just simply wish or pray for it! We have to create it!

It all starts with just one person! One person doing a kind thing for another.

Our soul purpose on this earth is to help each other and in return we create happiness and ease suffering.

Can you just imagine this world being peaceful and a happy place to be?

I know I can!

Ever wondered what your purpose on this earth was? Well, now you know!

Maybe today your day is just not going well. You can make it better! Each day we are given we have a choice to be happy or the opposite...sad. It is totally up to you!

Yes! Really!

So, start by saying, "Today, I am going to be happy!" and then spread happiness to others!

I have been doing this for the last week and let me tell you...It works!

I feel no stress, even though I am broke and not knowing how I will get through the month. I let it all go! I am not going to worry about it, I am not about to let it stress me out. Money is one of our biggest stressors. Let it go! Whatever it may be for you...let it go!

Let the things that are bothering you just shed away. Let them fall away from you. Let the chips fall where they may and deal with them as they come to you. If you are in a happy place and not stressed out, these dealings will come easier and you'll be able to deal with them head on without wanting to pull your hair out! ;O) *wink*

Now, what is one nice thing that you can do for someone else today and not expect anything in return? Smile at someone! Offer to share a meal with someone homeless. Even if it's just Mickey D's! Help some one who dropped their things on the ground! Make a dinner for your immediate family...light candles, get out those nice dishes and glassware! Lend an ear to someone who just wants to let it out! Offer a shoulder for someone to cry on! The list goes on and on!

There is one person out there that has it way worse than you right now, a person sitting next to you may be suffering something and you have no clue. Every one suffers from something. Making someones day will definately lighten their day as well as yours!

Now go! Start creating peace!

Hi there! So many new and exciting thing happening at Crowabout StudioB! Some of which I can share with you now and for you to keep an eyes open for NEW fun things in upcoming posts!

I can hardly stand the anticipation! It will be something really good!!! But for now I can only tease and taunt! hee hee

This weekend, I said to myself, "I really need to just do some art for me." SO I did! I finally got around to joining Roc's 2011 Journal Prompt group on Flickr HERE ! Sorry it took me so long Roc! My life has gotten pretty busy over the months! These art journal pages were much needed to be done!

They were done in a smaller art journal that I made from plain file folders. Well, it's not actually a put together art journal just yet. I plan work all the loose pages and then bind them all when they are finished. Something I haven't done before now. Usually I have an art journal ready made for play.

The first art journal page (above) was created with this prompt in mind: "what is one important thing you've learned in your life so far?" I chose Resolve and added a quote to go along with it.

Most everything from my 'leftovers/scrap bin (teesha moore, anahata, magazine tid bits, personal stash etc etc etc.

As to catch up in the group, I am working backwards through the months journal prompts.

This one was for Sept. 2011 and the prompt given was: "what quote moves you in your everyday life?"

A favorite quote of mine...

OMG! Today I called myself a............

Goddess! Really? Yup! Not the Goddess of worshiping type. But in the sense of "it's ok to give to myself freely and be a little selfish without the whole "guilt trip" aspect" kind of thing. What I mean is that, it is OK to give to yourself, a little treat that makes my day that much brighter and easier going and not concentrate on the negitivty of being selfish. And the sense of being open, passionate and you and your spirit radiating light!

There are so many inspirational speakers at this event...totally free! Some of the speakers grabbed my attention more than others!

I am really excited about all this! And wanted to share my experiences so far with The Worlds Biggest Summit all brought about by the lovely and enchanting Goddess Leona Dawson - A beautiful spirit she is, inside and out! THANK YOU FOR YOU LEONA and all you are doing to share this gift with the world! I actually have that excited feeling inside...you know the kind when you get good news! Ya that one! And good goosey bump thing going on!

I am alive! I can feel it! Sure I am breathing....but there is so much more to being alive and actually FEEL it in you! WOW! I love this feeling! Keep it coming!!

Today, I went outside to sit in my chair on my extremely small porch...if that is what you want to call it...but it is my space of solitude. And for the first time I felt the world around me! The birds seemed to be singing so much louder and clearer than ever! My sense of smell was enhanced! The sights were brighter, sky was bluer, the trees were that much more beautiful! The sun was shining that much brighter! My senses are alive too! It's great! A great feeling to know I am alive and with passion and wanting to give back to the world!

Time Off-Art Journal Page

Spent my morning creating this page in my art journal. I thought to myself, you deserve a break from everything today and just be myself. So I did. *smiles*

"To Fly"

Background handpainted, doodled with paint pens & water soluable crayons, as also, Pan Pastels and colored pencils. Background was later added to with water soluable crayons to add a touch of light because I was not happy with the original color alone.

Piece was then scanned into my Photo Shop and enhanced the eye and lip color and gave my gal some blushin cheeks too!

How about it...some art from me I mean! I know I don't get around here much to show art like I used to. I have tons to show you...so here are 4 pages from my art journal.

This first one has border images from Teesha Moore, a few magazine tid bits and some personal stash added in here and there. The main imagery...my funky person comes from one of my kits, Weird Things & Oddities. Maybe you can guess who inspired me!

And again...if you guessed who had inspired me in the first piece, you will find she inpired me even more in this second art journal page. *Hint* In one of her latest pieces she stenciled her lettering! How fun, I thought. So I gave it a go! I had a really fun time. The face on this person comes from the new kit You're Invited (the printable version) and the body & feet from Teesha Moore. Arms come from You're Invited also.

This 3rd AJ page has a good variety of imagery. Body is from "You're Invited" the printable version of course. You know me, I am a paper & glue gal.

There is imagery from Tumble Fish Studio @ DeviantScrap and Teesha Moore as well as my own personal paper stash.

Hello there! I have been playing a bit in my studio with paper, paint, glue and scissors! I adore this process. So fun to see what kind of quirky imagery I can come up with! hehe This is one of those pages! I still don't know if I am finished with the page...seems empty at the moment. Wow! I have been feeling that way lately! LOL Empty. No, not really anything to laugh at but, When I said, "the page...seems empty at the moment" ..it hit me! Wow! New funky art and something very lovely & inspiring!

Hello again! I have had a bit of free-time, just a bit to play with some of the images in Odd People & Borders and found it to be very fun! These 2 pages are digital, I will have some paper art journal pieces to share very soon! I wanted these 2 pages to look closer to what I would do in an art journal. Very difficult for me, but it has been something I have been wanting to do this year! I think this first one shows it off a more than the second one. I also played with some of the tools in Photoshop....some of them very unfamiliar to me...with no time to take classes I tend to explore the tools on my own. That's just how I roll!

"In all that you do give 110% of yourself." and to "Savor The Moment". Ya, I wrote that! HA! ;o)

At to the "Savor The Moment" ....a moment happens so quickly and then it is gone. So take another moment to savor it! *smiles*

I believe in creating our own magic in life, not just the pulling the rabbit out of a hat trick! Real magic happens everyday! Like receiving something unexpected in your mail box from a dear friend! When your children accomplish something they never thought they could! Or just having an "AH HA" moment! It's all magic...dontcha think?! These days getting your family together for a meal at the dining table is magical all by itself! Little things...can cause a big impact in our day! Treasure them!

I have to say that Kate is very charming and has a delightful accent! She explains things so calmly and thourougly that is so enjoyable to sit back and listen as she tells about art journaling! Better than an A+ in my book!! :O)

Paper Collage Art & Collage Sheets!!!

Guess who is doing paper art again?! hee hee Oh so much fun!

The first one is..."Heart Wish" and has over 70 different collage bits on this loose paper collage art piece! And it's huge!! It is approx 9 x 12 give or take...psst I didn't measure! I never measure...to ...ahh how should I say it....un-freeing! I like to be free when I play with paper collage! Let it flow without any rules!! :O)

This one I did previous to "Heart Wish" This one is just as big as it is and is titled, "Inner Voice".

The background color on both of these pieces ...especially this one is more pink and the first one has more of brown ink shading around the inside border and the color is pretty close to the original. Dang scanners LOL

Today is a special day! It is my youngest DD birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!!!!!!!

We Love you, Mom and Sis!!!

I also want wish everyone a Happy and safe New Year!

It has been a great year! There were some ups and downs, but I believe that it

creates a balance in ones life to take the good with the bad!

At the beginning I became part of the design team at DeviantScrap.com!!

Met many wonderful people through my work and made many a friendships there both with the team and some wonderful customers!! Thank you all for your friendships and your patronage! it all means so much to me.

Had some lovely visitors here on my blog! Thank you for always stopping by and leaving such kind words.

The bad thing that happened this year was a breakup after 10 years with my ol man. Sure it hurts, but I am moving on and doing better now!

Hello Everyone!!

I hope that each and everyone of you that celebrate the holiday season is having a wonderful time! We here at home celebrate Christmas...which I have to say went really awesome! This year for once I woke before my girls and peeked out my bedroom window, as the forecast had called for snow for Christmas Day! I had hoped and wished, but wasn't about to get my hopes up. Much to my surprise, there were 3 inches of snow on the ground and was still snowing in big fluffy snowflakes!! Awesome! What a blessing and a way to start the day of our celebration!

I bounced out of bed, well as much as possible for my ol body lol and went straight to my girls room with jingle bells in hand! Standing in their doorway gently shaking the bells and the girls started to stir awake! I said, Good Morning! Merry Christmas and guess what....IT'S SNOWING! They bounced out of their beds in much the same fashion as I, only not so gingerly LOL And ran to the window to see the fluffy flakes falling from the sky!!!

I then made me a bit of coffee and told the girls to go ahead and tear into their stockings to see what goodies there was for them! I then sat down with them and started handing them their gifts! RIP SHRED TEAR! It was great! They loved everything and a good time was had by all!

Moving ahead into the NEW YEAR of 2011! It is hard to believe how fast the time went in 2010!

It's that time of year again! Just wanted to stop in and wish EVERYONE a Merry Little Christmas!

Time for this ol gal to take a little break from the computer and start her holiday baking and then sit back and relax and enjoy family time with my girls! I have been fighting an awful cold this last week and hope it goes away in time to enjoy the holiday!!

I hope each and everyone of you are blessed with lots of family and friends gathered around you and many good wishes come true now and throughout the coming New Year of 2011!!!

Three Muses 81-Challenge-Odd Couple

"He Married Her for Her Pies"

3 Muses 81 Challenge-Odd Couple

The folks you see in this art piece are my grandparents! Both of German decent...My Grandmother was born in Germany...My Grandfather was born in Russia. Both came to America!!

As for the story...I will tell it the best I can...My Grandmother loved to cook and bake! Such yummy treats she would bring into our home! Grandma had been making pies one day and would cool them on the window sill. Grandpa...out for his daily walks would walk by her home and smell these delishious pies! One day he went to Grandmas house and asked for some pie. This went on for awhile and Grandpa eventually proposed marriage to her!

These two lovely folks would come to our house for the holidays and bring lots of yummy treats! After the feast and all the clean up was done. We would all sit at a large table and play Po-Ke-No! We gave the game a twist...and would put 3 empty cups in the center of the table. Everyone would save their pennies up just for this event. In each cup we would put one penny. Corners, Middle and Pokeno. Which ever one was called out you would get the pennies from the appropriate cup. We all called it gambling! hehe Grandma and Grandpa were always good for a giggle or two. Grandpa...he would cheat and call "POKENO" with a sly grin on his face! lol Grandma would shumuck his arm and curse at him in German...pretty sure she called him a "Dummy" haha And would wag her finger at him and say, "You just wait till I get you home mister!" And Grandpas grin would broaden even more! lol

Here is the original photo I used to extract the image of them for the art piece. Their wedding photo! Wouldn't you know it....after 50 years of marriage...my Grandpa proposed again and they renewed their wedding vows on their 50th wedding anniversary! How sweet is that! I miss these wonderful people! They are both angels now!

This is an image I found online to show you the game Po-Ke-No!! I have one...I had searched Etsy for one and got one of the original games and all the pieces were there! Perfect condition! :O) And now when the holidays come...I play it with my 2 daughters! FUN!

Hope you enjoy this little story! It is all true! I may not be the best writer but my memories of them vivid in my mind and etched in my heart forever!

This morning as I was strolling thru blogs, I came across one in particular...I will not mention

any names, but there was this beautiful collage sheet up for sale....With closer inspection...some of my imagery was used in creating the collage sheet!

I did a double take...shaking my head! I ask myself..."Am I really seeing this?"

I am furious!

How could they?

As artists yourself, I am sure you undertand how hard it is to make a go for yourself in the art world! Am I right?

If there is anything I cannot stand...is people that steal or lie!

Why would someone do this sort of thing? It hurts me beyond belief!!!

Finally getting around to posting some art! Eye Candy!!!!!!! Alot of things have happened on the homefront and kept me busy for the past couple weeks. The hub and I have parted ways and that is all I will say about that subject! I am ok and doing well as so are the kids! I am finally caught up with everything including bills! So I'm good!!! :O)

I have a few pages from my art journal to share with you! It is nice to get back in the groove of things and feels great to be creating and letting go in my journal!!!

In other news:
